If you’ve been in the Carlson Orthodontics offices lately, you may have noticed a fresh new face. That’s because we’ve added another exceptional orthodontist. Meet Dr. Joe Dougherty!

Dr. Dougherty was almost as excited to join our team as we were to have him join. He says the whole experience has been pretty incredible (his words…not ours:-). He told Dr. C that he felt blessed to be chosen and it has been an even greater blessing than he thought it would be. In fact, this mid-western, Chicago-area native has absolutely fallen in love with our Northern Minnesota community. And his wife, Alissa, feels the same.

The Dougherty Family (Joe and Alissa) met when they were about 10 years old and have been a part of each other’s lives ever since. They lived in Las Vegas for three years while he attended his orthodontic residency and despite trying, he says they were never really able to make friends with anyone outside school and work. They already have a ton of friends here and love going out to dinner, mountain-biking and hiking. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the juicy burger and fries in the photo, Joe says french fries are his favorite food. We think he fits just like a glove – and we’re sure you’ll agree.
